Glycorex Provides Affinity Products for Different Applications.
Examples are products for affinity purification of glycosidases, glycosyltransferases, lectins, carbohydrate-binding bacteria, cells and proteins (e.g. antibodies, glycosyltransferases and lectins). Each product can be designed and produced according to the specific needs of the customer, e.g. concerning type of spacer, immobilized carbohydrate ligand density, type of support (e.g. for conventional LC or for HPLC-mode).
Materials are Available for either Small Scale or Large Scale Applications.
Below a list of carbohydrate affinity materials based on agarose, GlycoSorbR, which have been prepared by coupling of bioactive carbohydrates via a spacer to cross-linked agarose which allows high flow rates, high capacity even for large proteins such as IgM, and excellent biocompatibility. The carbohydrates have been coupled to provide an amide linkage between the support and the carbohydrate ligand. This type of linkage is stable under most conditions. The total spacer length is ca 25 A to provide a proper distance between the support and the affinity ligand. The density of carbohydrate ligand is 5 - 10 mmol/ml settled gel.
The affinity materials are provided in swollen form and in mixed water-ethanol (80/20; V/V) to minimize bacterial growth. The affinity materials have been shown to be stable to various more or less drastic conditions (suitable for sterilization or for regeneration of columns), such as treatment with acid, base or 6 M guanidinium chloride.
It should be noted that our affinity materials have not
underwent preclinical or clinical testing. Any clinical application
of our affinity materials is entirely on the risk of the user.
